Comic Books

Hi. This page is dedicated for all the comic books that I've read and I'm going to make a list of all them. Some backstory, in Malaysia comic books are expensive. Cheapest I could get was around RM60 equivalent to 12EUR. Standard prices are around RM60 to RM80 which are darn expensive if you live in Malaysia. In Europe, comic books are around 15EUR to 20EUR. Depends if your salary is RM4000 to 4000EUR, which one do you think is expensive. Right? So, back then I would just 'illegally' download the comic books onto my phone and I would read them since I was 13 or 14, somewhere that age until my early 20s. I stopped reading online comic books because it's just not satisfying to read on the phone. Therefore, I stopped reading them altogether. Now, I'm in Ireland and I can buy a comic book with the price of 3 burgers. Win for me! So I started back to read comic books from DC to Marvel to Dark Horse. So as I've mentioned before, this page is going to be dedicated for me to list out and give a little bit insight on what the comic book is or my opinion regarding the book. Don't take this as a review, take this as my opinion on the book. Maybe some spoilers a little bit.

1. Batman Vol 1 : The Court of Owls by Scott Snyder

This book is my entry book when reading the Batman comic book. I've never read the Batman before. I've read this book a while back when I was 14. I bought them monthly in Malaysia and before I got married, I had to sell the books to make enough money for the wedding. This is great entry for the new ones who is just trying to get into Batman story.

2. Batman Vol 2 : The City of Owls by Scott Snyder

I really liked this book as it shows that Bruce Wayne is the Batman! It shows that without his cape, he still can be badass superhero that we all love but this comic book really leave us with a huge cliffhanger. It's the part about whether the Talon is Bruce's brother or not. The story does show Batman give a deduction or assumption that the Talon is not Bruce's brother but throughout Vol 1 & Vol 2, the story shows that Bruce's deduction can sometime be wrong as well. So now who knows.

3. Batman Vol 3 : Death of the Family by Scott Snyder

This book is the best Batman book that I read regarding the Joker. The dialogue from Joker and Batman are superb. It really shows two sides of two different characters. This book really shows the mayhem of Joker and the calculated Batman on how to counter the mayhem but maybe it's just me, I'm really lost on how the Joker got his face removed from his head and the book didn't explain on how his face got ripped off. Maybe there's another book that I need to read to understand this one.

4. Batman Vol 4 : Zero Year - Secret City by Scott Snyder

It's a okay book for me. It's the starting of Batman. It skips the part where his parents got killed and jumps straight to when Bruce is starting his vigilante stuff in Gotham. It's a good story but not the best one.

5. Flashpoint by Geoff Johns

I've watched the animated movie for this one and I love it. I always saw this comic book in bookstores back in Malaysia. I always wanted to buy one and read the book. It's a blast to read this one man. In future, I'm going to buy The World of Flashpoint comic books to understand more the characters for this book for an example like Batman is Thomas Wayne, Bruce's father. What his story is like and all that stuff. I'm going to them in the future.

1. Wolverine Vol 1 by Benjamin Percy

Okay. Let me get this straight. I love Wolverine. I mildly like this book. It's set in the time where Wolverine is in the X-Force. You kind of had to read X-Force comic book and then read the Wolverine comic book. It's kind of confusing and his motivation is very blurry if you don't read the X-Force comic book. But hey, a single volume doesn't represent the whole series, so I bought another one and will see.

2. Wolverine : Black, White & Blood

This book is good. I like the drawing for some parts and I really like the tone of Black, White & Red. It's so good. The style is awesome. If I would suggest them to people, I would suggest to read this just for the style and art direction alone. It's awesome. It's an anthology book of Wolverine's adventure. I like the one where he found a kid in the cabin and saved the kid from the mercenaries. That was brutal and gritty. That story has an awesome drawing style. I like it.

3. Wolverine : Snikt! by Tsutomu Nihei

Tsutomu Nihei drew the infamous or famous (depends on where you are) manga Blame!. His work was praised due to the stylish art style of black and white and was praised for the background story telling. His style gives the reader their own interpretation on what's going on. But some would say either you love it or hate it and I love it. I love this Snikt! comic book. It's a simple story telling comic book but it has it's own art style. It has less dialogues then most comic books that I've read and yet the art style tells many story. This one is a niche one. Try give it a go. I'll read this book again in the future for the art style alone.

3. Spider-Man : Back to Basics by Nick Spencer

This is my entry book to Spider-Man. I really like this book but on the 2nd half of the comic. The first half feels like they write the book towards children and it kind of made me lost interest in it. The second half was good enough for me to stay with the series. It's a weird story despite its name Back to Basics but it's good. Good story telling. The art style is okay. Nothing fancy.

4. Night of the Living Deadpool by Cullen Bunn

Before this I've read this comic book before back in 2016 or 2015. I think it's 2015. I love this comic book back then and I still love it now. I've read it again just for the craic of it. (and it was on sale for 9EUR) It still gives me a good time reading Deadpool mowing the zombies down. It's funny and gritty and horrible at the same time. It's a good comic book. I would recommend this to you if you like Deadpool.

5. Wolverine : Old Man Logan by Mark Millar

This is my favourite Marvel comic book so far. It is gritty. It is very dark. It's set in another universe where all the superheroes were killed by the organized super villians. Wolverine, now goes by only Logan, he vowed to never let his claws come out after the incident where he accidentally killed all of the X-Men because of Mysterio's illusion magic. He grew old and quiet with his new family at a farm years after the superheroes massacre. This book is so good as it really shows how Logan survives all the bullshit that he had to go through and it is very sad. Seeing him got beaten up, chewed, and disgraced by the new enemies (old enemies as well) while us the readers know what adventures he's been in and what history he had. I really recommend this book to all the comic book lovers. The sad thing is that the ending really kind of a cliffhanger by Mark Millar and the continuation of the story wasn't written by him anymore so that's kinda sad but for the sake of the love for Wolverine. Just read this one. Trust me. Even the movie 'Logan' were inspired by this comic book.

6. Spider-Man : Life Story by Chip Zdarsky

I saw this comic book in the bookstore in Limerick, O'Mahony's. My wife noticed the cover is so cool and slick. I was mesmerized by the cover and I flicked through the pages and I saw the drawing was decent enough. Nothing major perfection or anything. It's a decent drawing and art style. I look up on Google on the reviews for the comic book and all of 'em said "A MUST READ." and I ordered them of Amazon as the book store is around 25 quid and it was like 18 quid on Amazon. Let me tell you that this comic book is one of the best Spider-Man comic book. It's a one shot comic book. It doesn't have a part two or volume two. It tells a story of Peter Parker from the other Earth than the Earth that we always know which is Earth 616. This Peter Parker is from different Earth and it tells a story of him growing up from a teenage boy to an older person. This comic book is why I love Spider-Man. I don't want to spoil anything. Just read it.

Love

Assalamualaikum. Good morning.       " What do you mean? Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on? " - Gandalf from the The Hobbit      I am not well. Not physically but mentally. I feel like gonna jump out of my skin. I feel the loneliness. Oh yes, I am right now single. Just broken up with a girl that I thought I could commit but I can't. She just not for me. Her ways are not for me. Actually before that I've broken up with the perfect girl that I've been together since form 2. Last year, I felt the love wasn't sparked anymore. I felt like the fire burnt out. What is wrong with me? I dropped a dime and I feel miserable because I dropped it. I shot a hole through everything I loved. I burnt my own castle and I feel miserable. Why did I did that? Allah has mysterious ways of showing me the light. I still couldn't reach it.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Hello. What's the craic. I'm at work now. Writing this post. As the title name, this post is about Red Dead Redemption 2. It's not just about RDR2. It's about game. This post is kinda different for what I normally write which are about my past or my feelings or what I want in the future. This post is just about gaming. So let's start typing and you guys start reading.     Past few weeks ago, I played God of War 2018. I achieved 100% achievements on it and the game is amazing. I didn't say was as it still is in my deep suppressed thoughts. It is an amazing game. The combat, the orchestral music, the story. Don't get me started on the story. It's an amazing experience! After I finished God of War, I felt some emptiness of trying to find the next game that I wanted to play. Some people would call it the "Post Witcher 3 Depression" syndrome. It's where gamers are unable to find a game that is up to par with the last game he played. It'

College of Mara Kulim Part 1

Assalammualaikum and good morning or evening, depends on where you are. I want to babble about my journey entering College of Mara Kulim. Yes, Finally I'm a college student! First day of registration, I had no help from my parents. All they did were sending me and waited for me to finished the registration. I had to do everything myself. Some parents might saw that was kind of harsh but I know that they did that for me to be independent. I had to carry my own bags and everything. I met new people. Various kind of Malays from other states. Most of them are from Terengganu. The first two person I greeted were Faiz and Hadi. Both of them are assholes but cheerful. Then, there was this dude who lives in Kulim but previously lived in Kelantan. His name is Adrian. The accommodation is a dorm full with cubes. One cube can fit only two beds. My cube-mate is from Sungai Petani which means he lives near my house. When I meant near, I meant by very near. He lives in Taman Ria Jaya. Very
